Hmong Matters

The Hmong people of Southeast Asia are a fascinating group. They are scattered across five countries and have endured much hardship over the years, not least during the Vietnam War years.

The war ended in 1975 and with that came the mass exodus of Hmong people in their tens of thousands. They have their stories to tell.

Those of us who shared that experience also have our own stories – and photos to go with them. Here are a few based on my encounters with the many Hmong Christians I encountered and those who have been serving them since then…

But two individuals stand out above the rest and I want to show honour to them for the huge and lasting impact they have had across the world. They are radio pastor……Chong Lee (Txoov Lis) and Bible translator Doris Whitelock (Pamee) a missionary from Scotland.

There are others too who deserve mention, especially Ted and Ruth Andrianoff, Wayne Persons…
