This lady caught my attention when visiting a refugee camp in Laos during the early 70s. It was a gift! Her face demonstrates such character and resolve even though she faces hardship and an uncertain future – one of many who were stalwart in adversity.
I would have loved to engage her in conversation – but in many respects she exemplifies the many who listened to FEBC’s broadcasts on a daily basis. She was our listener – a person with a story to tell, and one to whom we wanted to extend love and hope.
When designing the cover I knew her photo would illustrate the title beautifully, while appealing to the reader. Presented with that photo Amazon did the rest…
